Club-Fitting Isn't Rocket ScienceClub-fitting for the average golfer doesn't require high-tech equipment, such as video analysis or a launch monitor (a device that measures the speed, direction, and spin of a golf ball leaving the clubface). Vijay and Tiger may benefit from a high-tech approach, but you're not likely to, and even Vijay and Tiger lose it right or left with regularity. I'm betting that you're less interested in hitting it 8 yards further, once in a while, than in hitting it straight more often. Many experts agree that if you don't have a 120-mph swing, a launch monitor won't help. Accordingly, instead of a high-tech approach to give the illusion of a precision assessment, my approach is simplicity itself. Relying on decades of experience, I assess your swing fundamentals during a session in my shop. I then recommend the type of head that matches your ball flight, as well as the shaft design that matches your swing. Ever hear that the shaft is the most important part of the club? It's critical to choose the proper length, lie, and flex, and I'll tell you why. Alternatively, you can go to a nicely-decorated store and spend $1000 on the latest highly-marketed set of clubs that may or may not be right for you. Why Components?Constructing your clubs from individual components allows you to take control of your game.
We select lofts and club angles that work with you. Need more spin? Less spin?
Lower center of gravity? Higher? More length from heel to toe, or less
surface area? Heavier club? Lighter? You
can have it anyway you like it. |
